SAQ Entrusts Frare Gallant with the Expansion of its Distribution Center by Nearly 200,000 sq. ft.
It’s official, the SAQ has awarded us the construction management contract for the expansion of its Montreal Distribution Center, which covers an area of nearly 200,000 sq. ft.
The SAQ has mandated us to supervise the project and ensure the smooth running of the work on the site. Over the next few months, we will complete three different service components: construction management services including pre-project consulting expertise, taking charge of project management on behalf of the SAQ, carrying out the construction of the expansion, and coordinating with the equipment supplier.
The construction of this building is based on several sustainable development elements, including a green roof of nearly 110,000 sq. ft., a vegetated wall, and an electric heating system. To go even further, the SAQ has partnered with the City of Montreal to plant more than 900 trees and shrubs and nearly 3,000 perennials and grasses.
A project of such magnitude, which places such a strong emphasis on sustainable development, is a tremendous source of pride for our team and reflects the values of Frare Gallant.
All the specialized design and construction management teams are currently working on transforming and modernizing the SAQ’s supply chain. Frare Gallant’s fine expertise in the management and construction of distribution centers and automation is a major asset in realizing the future vision imagined for the SAQ.
“This project will be the result of a magnificent team synergy and the professionalism that inhabits the various partners on the mandate. Once completed, this major expansion will support the anticipated growth for all of the SAQ’s clientele,” reports Dominic Bigras, project director.
Frare Gallant is honored to leverage its 45 years of expertise to support and encourage the SAQ’s future objectives.
The site mobilization is already underway and our teams are actively working on the project. Frare Gallant’s construction mandate will extend until 2025.
We are proud to have won this important mandate, which was awarded following a rigorous selection process.
